What is global advocacy?

Global advocacy is our work with global organisations such as the United Nations.

The United Nations is an international organisation made up of governments from all over the world. They work together to make the world a better place.

Why it’s important

It is important that our members’ views are represented in the discussions of the United Nations because they contribute to the changes that happen in our countries and then affect our daily lives.

How we do global advocacy

Our work is to represent the global views and experiences of people with intellectual disabilities and their families in places where decisions on important issues are made.

We work with our members to make sure that important issues that affect people with intellectual disabilities and their families are heard by high-level decision makers. For example, politicians and governments.
