In November 2013 the Council of Inclusion International met in Paris to review progress of the membership review work carried out over the past year and to discuss the next steps leading up to the 2014 GA in Nairobi, Kenya.
During the workshop in Paris, the Council members discussed and reviewed in detail the statement of unity and membership proposition drafted by the working group chaired by Fadia, Vice President. These documents have been developed in order to ensure that the core purpose of the network is clear and shared by all and to articulate Inclusion International’s responsibilities to its members and their commitment to the network.
The next drafts of these statements will be circulated in February and used as a basis for consultations with membership organizations. A final draft will be submitted for discussion and, where appropriate, approval at the 2014 GA in Kenya.
The work continues on developing our thinking around membership structures and fees. Our initial thoughts will be circulated in February. We envisage that we will have further discussions on this in Kenya.
We are also reviewing what changes we need to make in both the short term and long term to our Constitution documents to reflect the various items under discussion. Where they exists, we are also working closely with the regions to ensure that there is agreement in the way we deal with membership. If you want further details please contact email@example.com
