Zero Project’s Innovative Practices and Innovative Policies 2016

Nominate a project for the Zero Project’s Innovative Practices and Innovative Policies 2016. The focus for this year will be on Inclusive Education and/or ICT (Information and Communication Technology). The deadline is July 10, 2015. II members have been nominated in the past and representatives of II have attended and presented at the annual Zero Project conference. Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is calling for contributions on the article 11 of the CRPD on Situation of Risk and Humanitarian Emergencies. They have prepared a number of questions to guide contributions. Contributions should be sent to the OHCHR by 15 July 2015, to registry@nullohchr.org or by fax +41 22 917 90 08). All contributions should also be provided in accessible formats. Open Society Foundations (OSF)

The Open Society Foundations (OSF) has launched a call for proposals to support projects that promote inclusive education through Country reports to the UN.  We are writing to ask if you would be interested in developing a proposal in partnership with Inclusion International. The project are small and country specific but II could assist in the development of the proposal and provide technical support to the project implementation. Projects are country-specific and for US$20,000. The deadline for submissions is August 1, 2015. The project would provide an opportunity to highlight the issue of inclusive education and engage with United Nations treaty bodies looking at education issues in 2016. Eligible projects include:

  • Making submissions and/or presentations  to UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) Committee regarding the development of a General Comment on CRPD Article 24
  • Submitting alternative or parallel reports focused on education to the CRPD Committee or other committees (specifically: the Convention on the Rights of Children (CRC); Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW); and, Convention on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESR)).
