There are very encouraging signs in our region. In China we have our partner group Rong Ai Rong Le based in Beijing and we were able to organise the workshop with Inclusion International last year. Also our member organisation in India, Parivar, has helped the birth of a self-advocacy group in India. The self-advocacy forum in India, called SAFI. We have been fortunate to have the strong support of Inclusion International, particularly our President Klaus who joined these important meetings in China, as well as in India.
When we look back on our activities for the past year our priorities continue to be working with the regional UN Commission, which is called UN ESCAP and within that framework we have been able to give priority to the encouragement of the development of the self-advocacy groups in the less developed parts of SE Asia, like Thailand, Cambodia
