Self-advocate Mia Farah to open Conference of States Parties

Inclusion International Council member Mia Farah will be speaking at the opening of the Conference of States Parties (COSP) on Tuesday, June 13th. The 10th session of the COSP will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 13- 15 June, under the theme “The Second Decade of the CRPD: Inclusion and full participation of persons with disabilities and their representative organizations in the implementation of the Convention.” Mia’s speech will follow opening remarks by the President of the Conference, the Chairperson of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In her prestigious role on the opening panel for COSP Mia  will share her individual experience as a person with a disability and will also carry forward civil society’s shared vision for full inclusion and participation for persons with disabilities.
