PAPID

Parents’ Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability, Taiwan (PAPID, Taiwan) is a non-profit organization founded by the parents who have children with intellectual disabilities in 1992. The mission of PAPID is to promote the rights of people with intellectual disabilities. PAPID takes a comprehensive approach to the social support for people with intellectual disabilities and advocates for legislation and social welfare policies, including early intervention, education, employment, legal consulting, personal safety, health promotion, economic security, independent living, care policies, etc. In April 2013, there are 15,000 individual members joined PAPID, and 41 regional associations in different areas of Taiwan to provide services to people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
