On 14-15 May Government specialists on disability issues, civil society and international organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean came together to analyze the situation of people with disabilities in Latin America and the Caribbean and to define strategic priorities on the regional agenda to boost joint efforts by government agencies and civil society organizations.
The outcomes of the meeting were:
i) The provision of content to the secretariat of the Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities for the position paper for the High level Meeting
ii) The dissemination of the proposed strategic priorities to the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean for their information and consideration
iii) The definition of the next steps to be taken by CEPAL in order to monitor the Convention on the basis of the priorities identified.
