VII Argentine Down Syndrome Congress

With over 1,500 participants, more than 100 speakers in more than 40 panels, it offered countless opportunities for discussions on inclusive education, the right to decide and employment as unresolved issues. The event brought together relatives of people with Down Syndrome many with young children, professionals and young people and adults who had an important role,
Nothing about us without us¨ they said.
Family organizations and organized groups of self-advocates shared their work, their reality and their dreams for a life included in the community.
Participants came from Buenos Aires and several provinces of Argentina, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Nicaragua, Honduras, Mexico, Canada, South Africa and Germany offering an opportunity to discuss the regional and international context and possibilities.
We heard an expression of interest to work regionally which Inclusion Interamericana and II identified as important allies.
