The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is writing a new report where they will highlight the experience families of children with disabilities.

The report will talk about the challenges and barriers that families, in particular mothers, of children with disabilities face, and how those challenges can impact the rights of persons with disabilities.

This report will help shape the global discussion on building care and support systems that are based on human rights, and represent issues of women, persons with disabilities, and, older persons.

Organisations are being asked to share information about the experiences of families of children with disabilities in their countries – this is an important opportunity to share our network’s messages about the support that families of people with intellectual disabilities need.

Inclusion International will be writing a submission to the Special Rapporteur on behalf of our network, and we would like some information from you about what kind of support families are getting in your country.

You can make your contributions to the global Inclusion International submission through these forms – you can submit in English, Spanish, French, or Arabic:
