Inclusion International hosts working groups and discussion groups that bring together members to talk about issues that are important to them.

These meetings are only for members of Inclusion International, and they are run by Co-Chairs from our members organisations who lead the conversation.

Date & Time:

On January 23, at 1pm UK time (8am EST/3pm EAT), the Deinstitutionalisation Working Group will have a meeting.

Topic:

There are 3 goals we could focus on for 2024:

  • Continue the regional webinars: We still have Middle-East, Europe and Africa and speakers interested in contributing.
  • Case studies on DI: We could work on a template with you all to gather case studies of DI that happened in your countries with some key aspects
  • Experience-focused webinars: Once the regional webinars are finished, we were thinking that we could start to have webinars more focused on concrete and practical experience of supporting the transition of people from a particular institution into community-based services.

The Working Group:

The Deinstitutionalisation Working Group is a place where members can come together to talk about and do work on closing institutions.

The group is led by Co-Chairs from Inclusion Ireland and PAPID Taiwan.

Attendance:

Anyone who is a member of Inclusion International can be part of the working group.

Both people who are part of a member organisation and people who are individual members can be part of the group.
