Last year, at Inclusion International’s World Congress, Inclusion Canada hosted a session about medical assistance in dying (MAID). 

MAID is when a health professional helps a person to put an end to their life because the person asked for it. 

The session at the World Congress got a lot of interest and attention from members and those who missed it asked to have an online session about it.

On Thursday October 1st at 9am EDT/2pm BST (UK time) , Inclusion International and Inclusion Canada are co-hosting a meeting about MAID. 

The webinar is for Inclusion International members and it aims to:

  • Explain MAID to the Inclusion International network.
  • Talk about the risks of assisted dying based on disability and hear members’ experiences and concerns from other countries.
  • Find ways to support Inclusion Canada’s advocacy and ways to oppose assisted dying based on disability in other countries.
  • Start a conversation in our network that could lead to developing a position paper on this issue.

We encourage you to find out whether any laws about assisted dying exist in your country so you can share about it at the meeting.
