Inclusion International is pleased to share our 2022 Annual Report. This report shows the progress we made last year in our mission to promote inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
The stories and achievements in this report show what can happen when members come together for inclusion.
In 2022, Inclusion International continued to advocate for the rights and inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities and their families worldwide.
Our members continue to lead this work, taking action to ensure people with intellectual disabilities are not left behind.
Highlights
- We launched the Listen Include Respect guidelines, giving organisations the tools to fully include people with intellectual disabilities in work and meetings
- We influenced the CRPD committee’s Guidelines on Deinstitutionalisation, playing a significant role in finalising the drafting process
- We saw the Bellini decision recognise the rights of caregiving family members to support disabled family members’ rights, highlighting the importance of our advocacy for families
- We strengthened our connections through Regional Meetings. Our Regional Representatives to Council chaired these meetings, which connect our members within their regions and broaden our understanding of each region’s unique challenges and experiences
While we could not meet in person in 2022, our members kept working for inclusion worldwide. Their efforts and dedication are moving us closer to our vision of people with intellectual disabilities participating equally in communities globally.
There is still more work to do. We invite you to read the achievements in this report and join us on this important journey.
We thank our members for their strong work toward our shared goal of inclusion and equality for people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
