This information toolkit is designed to explore how to support people to access the ballot box before during and after elections and to support people with intellectual disabilities and their families, governments and partners to ensure people with intellectual disabilities are able to exercise their right to political participation.

The right to be heard. The right to vote. The expectation that your voice matters and that your government should listen to you. The right to be active in your community – calling for change; holding governments accountable. The rights that many are able to exercise without question because they are not labelled as having an intellectual disability.

This article is about the barriers to inclusive employment that people with intellectual disabilities and families face in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, and Bangladesh.

Inclusion International has made two submissions to the CRPD Committee to contribute to their General Comment 8 about Article 27. These submissions explain what our network wants to tell governments about inclusive employment and calls for real jobs for real pay.
