Inclusion International is working with our members in Zambia and Angola to create strong self-advocacy groups.

This project is run in an inclusive way, based on the Listen Include Respect guidelines. This means that self-advocates are in the lead on the project, and everything is done in an accessible way – from our project planning to our reports.

Goals

The big goal of this project is to support Inclusion Africa and its members in Southern Africa create strong groups of self-advocates who can start making change in their communities.

As part of the project:

  1. People with intellectual disabilities will be supported to become self-advocates
  2. Self-advocates will lead their organisations and wider communities to become more inclusive
  3. OPDs will have strengthened capacity in supporting emerging self-advocacy groups

  2. Forming the first self-advocacy groups in Zambia and Angola
